How it runs

Our powder coating process

1. Order entry & tracking

Logged and tracked from receipt through shipment, so we can tell you where your job is.

2. Surface preparation

Cleaning and degreasing by phosphate solution systems, sand blasting or steam cleaning.

3. Masking

High-temperature tape and silicone plugs protect threaded and high-tolerance areas.

4. Electrostatic application

Applied in a controlled booth, from FDA- and UL-approved materials to polyester, epoxy and hybrid.

5. Curing

Batch or conveyor, through a large batch oven or four-stage curing oven — melt, gel, harden.

6. Final inspection

Checked against your print and finish standard before it ships.

Colors & materials

The finish, exactly as specified

Choose from solid colors, textures, fluorescents, candies, chromes and tints — and beyond stock, customised shades and hues can be created to suit most requirements. Color charts and physical display panels give you a true visual of the finished product before production starts.

Special-order colors and materials come through DuPont, Sherwin-Williams and Tiger-Drylac. We are an approved DuPont coater and apply PPG Keeler & Long architectural finishes. For medical and food-contact applications we apply FDA- and UL-approved engineered materials such as Teflon-S® and Nylon.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between powder coating and liquid painting?

Powder is applied dry, electrostatically, then cured in an oven — it builds a thicker, tougher, more economical film. Liquid paint is sprayed wet and suits thin films, heat-sensitive parts, and the specific multi-layer systems called out on military and aerospace drawings.

Do you finish plastics as well as metal?

Yes. We finish metal and plastics, including bezels, satellite dishes, traffic light housings, radar antennas and electronics enclosures.

Can you handle both prototypes and production volume?

Yes. Batch and production runs go through the same certified processes on the same lines.

What certifications do you hold?

AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015, ITAR registered, RoHS compliant, plus certified applicator status with several major coatings manufacturers and with Cerakote.

Can you mark and coat the same part?

Yes. Silk screening is done in-house, so a part can be coated and marked without leaving the building.

Do you offer pickup and delivery?

Yes, across the Dallas Metro and surrounding area from our Rowlett facility. Expedited orders are available.

Can Gleco plate the part too?

Yes. Gleco Plating dba Gleco Paint and Powder Coating is one company — plating, anodizing, chem film and passivation run alongside coatings, on one PO and one certification package.
