Powder Coating & Industrial Painting in Plano, TX

Plano work tends to arrive with an engineer attached: electronics, telecom, medical device and corporate OEM programs where the drawing is specific and somebody will ask what film build we actually held. That suits us. We are AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015 registered, we measure and record what we apply, and we would rather argue about a specification before the order than after it.

What we run

Coating Work for Plano Manufacturers

Electronics and telecom hardware

Enclosures, chassis, racks and panels. RoHS-compliant coating systems including hexavalent-chromium-free pretreatment where the specification permits, plus masked grounding points and silk screened legends.

Medical device housings

Cleanable finishes on carts, housings, frames and instrument trays, with documented process control and lot traceability — the part of the job that matters when the auditor arrives.

Product development and prototypes

Color trials, sample panels, and a first article before a production release. If you are still choosing a finish, our Finish Selector will get you to a starting point and the specification language for the print.

Close-tolerance components

Where a bore has to hold a press fit or a thread has to gauge, Cerakote at roughly 0.75 to 1 mil often removes the masking argument entirely. Powder at 2 to 3 mils per surface does not.

Getting parts here

Distance, Freight and Turnaround

About 20 miles — roughly 30 minutes across on the President George Bush Turnpike.

Thirty minutes each way is easy for a sample and manageable for production. Most Plano customers ship, but the drive is short enough that a color approval or a first article review in person is worth doing once at the start of a program rather than trading photographs.

Why us

What Most Coating Shops Serving Plano Cannot Say

AS9100D registered

The aerospace quality standard, third-party registered and audited on a surveillance cycle — not a claim, a certificate you can download.

ITAR registered and DFARS compliant

Controlled technical data handled under access control, so a defense prime can release work without a flow-down exception.

Powder, liquid and Cerakote

Three processes under one roof, so the recommendation is driven by your part rather than by the only line we own.

Plating in the same company

Gleco Paint & Powder is the coatings division of Gleco Plating — one purchase order, one traceability chain, one certificate of conformance.

Questions

Plano Coating Questions

How long does it take to get parts from Plano to your shop?

About 20 miles and roughly 30 minutes across the President George Bush Turnpike. We are at 5020 Grisham Drive in Rowlett, open Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm.

Which finish should I specify?

If you are not sure, start with our Finish Selector — five questions about substrate, heat limit, service environment and what matters most, and it returns a recommendation plus the specification language to put on the print. Then send us the drawing and we will tell you whether we agree.

Will powder coating affect my tolerances?

Yes, and it is worth designing for. Powder lands at 2 to 3 mils on every surface, so a hole loses roughly twice that on the diameter. Dimension for it, mask the feature, or authorize a post-coat chase — and put whichever one you want on the print.

Do you support RoHS-compliant finishes?

Yes. Coating systems are available in RoHS-compliant configurations, including chrome-free pretreatments where the specification allows. If a restricted-substance requirement applies, state it on the order and we will furnish the compliance statement.

Can you do low-volume production runs?

Yes. Minimum lot and line-item charges apply, and we will quote them plainly. For programs still ramping, tell us where the volume is going and we will build the quote around that rather than around the first order.
