Electronics & Enclosure Coating

Conductive and shielding coatings, cosmetic-critical housings, silk-screened panels, racks and chassis — finished in a shop that understands that a coated enclosure still has to ground.

What we run

Coatings we run for electronics

Electronics enclosures ask a coating to do two contradictory things at once: insulate and protect the outside, while leaving a clean electrical path where the design needs one. Getting that right is mostly masking discipline.

EMI / RFI Shielding

Conductive coatings that give a plastic or coated enclosure the electromagnetic behavior of a metal one. Applied with the grounding and bonding paths masked so the shield actually terminates.

  • Conductive shielding systems
  • Grounding paths masked and verified
  • Applied to metal and plastic housings

Class A Powder & Paint

Cosmetic-critical housings, bezels and covers where the finish is part of the product. Color matched to a target and held across production runs.

  • Custom color matching
  • Smooth, texture and matte finishes
  • Rack marks placed by agreement

Silk Screening & Panel Marking

Control legends, nomenclature, part numbers and instruction text screened directly onto the finished panel, then protected where the spec calls for it.

  • Panel legends and control markings
  • Artwork matched to drawing
  • Durable, coated-over where required

Precision Masking

Connector faces, grounding pads, card guides, threaded inserts and sealing surfaces stay bare — written on the traveler, checked at inspection.

  • Connector and grounding faces
  • Threaded inserts and card guides
  • Verified before and after cure
Why us

Why electronics buyers work with us

Most coating problems on enclosures are not coating problems. They are communication problems — a grounding pad nobody masked, a color that drifted between runs, a legend that lifted. Those are the things we are careful about.

Grounding that survives

A shielded enclosure with a coated ground path is an unshielded enclosure. Bonding surfaces are masked and verified, not assumed.

Color held across runs

Formulation is recorded so the second production lot matches the first, and the spare part matches the unit it goes into.

Screening in-house

Coating and marking happen in the same building. Registration and color match are controlled rather than coordinated between two vendors.

Plating available too

Chem film for conductivity under paint, tin or silver plate for contacts — run at Gleco Plating in the same company, on the same order.

Questions

Electronics coating FAQ

Can you coat a plastic enclosure?

Yes. Plastics take powder and paint with the right pretreatment and cure schedule, and conductive shielding coatings are commonly applied to plastic housings specifically to give them EMI performance. Tell us the resin so we can set the cure temperature safely.

How do you keep grounding pads clear?

They are masked. Mark the grounding and bonding locations on the print and we will plug, tape or boot them, record it on the traveler, and check them at inspection before the part ships.

Can you match our existing color?

Send a chip, a painted part, a RAL or a FED-STD-595 number. We match to it and keep the formulation on file so repeat orders and spares stay consistent.

Do you do silk screening on coated panels?

Yes, in the same building as the coating. Legends, nomenclature and identification are screened onto the finished surface and protected where the specification requires it.

What about cosmetic requirements?

Tell us which surfaces are cosmetic before the first article. How a part is racked decides where the film thins and where the rack mark lands, and that is a fixturing decision we would rather make with you than around you.

Can you handle both shielding and a decorative outer finish?

Yes — conductive coating inside, decorative or protective finish outside, with the interfaces masked. It is a common build and it is easier when one shop owns both steps.

Send the print and mark the ground paths.

Substrate, finish, color target and what has to stay bare. Quotes typically back within one business day.
