Automotive & Heavy Truck Coating

Chassis components, brackets, wheels, frames and under-hood parts that have to survive road salt, stone chip, heat cycling and years of abuse — coated in Rowlett with the salt spray performance and documentation the OEM chain expects.

What we run

Coatings we run for automotive and heavy truck

Automotive finishing is a durability problem. The coating is not there to look good in a photograph — it is there to still be attached to the part after five winters of brine, gravel and thermal cycling.

Powder Coating

The default for chassis brackets, frames, wheels, guards and under-body components. Thick, tough films with excellent chip and abrasion resistance and no solvent sag on heavy sections.

  • Outstanding chip resistance
  • Heavy film build without runs
  • Chassis, brackets, wheels, frames

Industrial Liquid Paint

For parts where powder is impractical — heat-sensitive assemblies, very large weldments or specific OEM paint callouts.

  • Heat-sensitive assemblies
  • OEM color and gloss systems
  • Primer and topcoat stacks

Zinc-Rich & Corrosion Primers

Where salt spray hours are the specification, a primer that protects galvanically buys performance a barrier coating cannot.

  • Galvanic protection of steel
  • Long salt spray performance
  • Under powder or liquid topcoat

Prep, Blast & Phosphate

Road-salt performance is bought at the pretreatment stage, not the topcoat. Blasting and iron phosphate come before anything is sprayed.

  • Abrasive blast profiling
  • Iron phosphate conversion coating
  • Water break-free verification
Why us

Why automotive buyers work with us

Heavy truck and automotive supply chains care about three things from a coater: does it pass salt spray, does it arrive on the date, and can you prove what you did.

Corrosion performance by design

Pretreatment, primer and topcoat specified as a system against the salt spray target, not assembled from whatever is on hand.

Plating in the same company

Zinc, zinc-nickel and phosphate run at Gleco Plating. Parts needing a plated undercoat and a coated topcoat stay with one supplier.

Production and batch capacity

Two Texas plants and a certified system that handles prototype runs and production volume without changing process.

PPAP-ready paperwork

First article reports, certificates of conformance and material certifications built into the job when you ask for them up front.

Questions

Automotive coating FAQ

What salt spray hours can you hit?

That is a system question, not a coating question. Pretreatment, primer choice and film build together determine the number. Tell us the hours the print requires and we will specify a stack that meets it — and tell you honestly if the target is not reachable with the substrate and geometry you have.

Can you do zinc-nickel plate with a powder topcoat?

Yes, and it is a strong combination for road-salt exposure. Zinc-nickel plating runs at Gleco Plating in the same company, so the plated part moves to the coating line without leaving the building or the purchase order.

Do you coat wheels?

Yes. Wheels are routine powder work. Tell us whether the mounting face, bore and stud holes must stay bare and we will mask them.

How do you handle large weldments and frames?

Send dimensions and weight with the RFQ. The practical limits are booth and oven size and we will tell you immediately whether a part fits rather than after you have shipped it.

Can you support PPAP submissions?

Yes. First article inspection reports, certificates of conformance and material certifications are routine. Tell us what the submission package needs to contain so it is built into the job rather than reconstructed later.

Do you do prototype and low volume?

Yes, through the same certified process as production, so what you qualify on the prototype is what you get at volume.
