Powder Coating & Industrial Painting in Carrollton, TX

Carrollton carries a dense base of precision machining and industrial products manufacturing, and precision work is where coating gets interesting: the film has to protect the part without putting a critical dimension out of tolerance. We run powder, liquid and thin-film Cerakote, which means the answer is not always the same one.

What we run

Coating Work for Carrollton Manufacturers

Precision machined components

Powder adds 2 to 3 mils per surface. Cerakote runs roughly 0.75 to 1 mil, and dry film lubricant thinner still. On a close-fit feature that difference is the whole decision, and it is why we run all three rather than arguing that one is best.

Industrial products and OEM hardware

Repeat production held to a documented parameter sheet, with a color standard maintained lot to lot and a certificate of conformance on every shipment.

Assemblies and mixed materials

Anything containing seals, bearings, wiring, adhesives or polymers cannot see a standard powder cure. Liquid cures at ambient, and Cerakote’s air-cure grades put no heat into the part at all.

Threaded and close-fit features

Three honest options: coat it, mask it, or coat and chase it. Chasing is often cheaper and more repeatable than masking, but it means running a tap through your part, so it has to be authorized on the print.

Getting parts here

Distance, Freight and Turnaround

About 28 miles northwest — roughly 40 minutes depending on the route.

Forty minutes across the metro makes Carrollton a freight or scheduled-run market for production, though the drive is worth making once for a first article or a color approval. Standard turnaround is three weeks from receipt of complete material and a complete purchase order.

Why us

What Most Coating Shops Serving Carrollton Cannot Say

AS9100D registered

The aerospace quality standard, third-party registered and audited on a surveillance cycle — not a claim, a certificate you can download.

ITAR registered and DFARS compliant

Controlled technical data handled under access control, so a defense prime can release work without a flow-down exception.

Powder, liquid and Cerakote

Three processes under one roof, so the recommendation is driven by your part rather than by the only line we own.

Plating in the same company

Gleco Paint & Powder is the coatings division of Gleco Plating — one purchase order, one traceability chain, one certificate of conformance.

Questions

Carrollton Coating Questions

How much does coating add to my dimensions?

Powder is typically 2 to 3 mils per surface, so a hole or slot loses roughly twice that on the dimension. An aerospace liquid primer-plus-topcoat stack runs about 2.3 to 3.2 mils total, Cerakote roughly 0.75 to 1 mil, and dry film lubricant 0.3 to 0.5 mil. Dimension for it, mask the feature, or authorize a post-coat chase.

Which finish is right for a precision part?

Usually the thinnest one that meets the service requirement. Our Finish Selector will get you to a starting point in five questions and give you the specification language for the print — then send the drawing and we will tell you whether we agree.

Can you coat an assembly?

It depends what is in it. Seals, bearings, wiring, adhesives and polymers cannot see a 350 to 400°F powder cure. Those are liquid or air-cure parts. Tell us the temperature limit and we will pick a system that lives under it.

Do you coat threads?

Yes, three ways — coat them, mask them, or coat and chase them. Coating and chasing is often cheaper and more repeatable than masking, but authorize it on the print because it means running a tap through your part. Call out the thread size and class either way.

What should be on the purchase order?

Specification and revision, substrate with alloy and temper, masking called out by feature with the boundary dimensioned, the color standard if appearance is controlled, any bake requirement with its governing spec, and any testing beyond our standard certificate of conformance.
