Powder Coating & Industrial Painting in Fort Worth, TX

Fort Worth is an aerospace town. The primes based there and the supply chain feeding them work to specifications most coating shops have never quoted, let alone run. Gleco Paint & Powder is AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015 registered, ITAR registered and DFARS compliant, and CARC and MIL-spec systems are ordinary production for us rather than a special.

What we run

Coating Work for Fort Worth Manufacturers

Aerospace supply chain

MIL-PRF-23377 and MIL-PRF-85582 epoxy primers under MIL-PRF-85285 polyurethane topcoat, held to the thin films airframe work demands — primer at 0.6 to 0.9 mil, the full stack around 2.3 to 3.2 mils. We support AS9102 first article and PPAP-level documentation.

Defense ground equipment

Full CARC systems per MIL-DTL-53072 — pretreatment, epoxy primer, chemical agent resistant topcoat, with the film build and batch validation documented rather than asserted.

Machined detail parts

Where tolerance is the constraint, Cerakote at roughly 0.75 to 1 mil often lets a threaded or close-fit feature be coated without masking at all. Dry film lubricant to MIL-PRF-46010 and MIL-PRF-46147 runs thinner still.

Tooling and ground support

Blast, prep, prime and topcoat on fixtures, carts, stands and handling equipment — the unglamorous work that still has to pass a source inspection.

Distance, Freight and Turnaround

About 50 miles east to west across the metro — roughly an hour on I-30.

An hour each way is a real cost, so Fort Worth work usually moves by freight or on a consolidated run rather than a car trip. Build that into the schedule and it is a non-issue — standard turnaround is three weeks from receipt of complete material and a complete purchase order. If you are shipping controlled technical data with the parts, tell us in advance and we will handle it under access control.

Why us

What Most Coating Shops Serving Fort Worth Cannot Say

AS9100D registered

The aerospace quality standard, third-party registered and audited on a surveillance cycle — not a claim, a certificate you can download.

ITAR registered and DFARS compliant

Controlled technical data handled under access control, so a defense prime can release work without a flow-down exception.

Powder, liquid and Cerakote

Three processes under one roof, so the recommendation is driven by your part rather than by the only line we own.

Plating in the same company

Gleco Paint & Powder is the coatings division of Gleco Plating — one purchase order, one traceability chain, one certificate of conformance.

Questions

Fort Worth Coating Questions

Are you set up for aerospace specifications?

Yes. AS9100D registered, and the aerospace primer and topcoat specs — MIL-PRF-23377, MIL-PRF-85582, MIL-PRF-85285 — are systems we run. We support AS9102 first article inspection and will process test coupons with your production load when the specification requires them.

Is the drive from Fort Worth worth it?

Be honest with yourself about what you need. If the print calls out a MIL spec, a first article, or a certification most local shops cannot satisfy, the hour matters less than the requalification would. If it is a rack of brackets that needs to look tidy, there are closer options and we will say so.

Do you handle ITAR-controlled work?

Yes. We are registered with the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls and handle controlled technical data under access control. Identify it in writing at the time of order. We do not publish our registrant code; it goes directly to customers who need it for their records.

Can you match a Federal Standard 595 color?

Yes, and the color callout should be on the print. Note that a color number is not a color standard — if appearance is controlled, send a current approved sample on the same alloy, temper and mechanical finish, because gloss and shade vary with substrate.

What about parts too large for an oven?

Powder cure is oven-bound; liquid is not. Oversized weldments and structures get a liquid system that cures at ambient or force-dries at low temperature. Tell us the envelope early and we will tell you which way it has to go.
